Lead Electrical Design Engineer, Factory Design

Tesla is looking for an innovative Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Fremont Factory Design team in Fremont, CA. The electrical design team is responsible for designing and overseeing construction of all electrical changes to our site power distribution system. This position is full time, on-site.

Responsibilities

• This is not a desk job, you will get dirty. Candidates must be willing to design, estimate, purchase, construct, commission and maintain their work
• Candidate will manage of team of 6-8 junior through senior level engineers
• Provide cost estimates, timelines, and capacity insights for analysis of new program feasibility
• Provide technical guidance in design and construction phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents and close-out
• Develop and improve project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent
• Perform regular field visits and collaborate with construction team to reflect construction feasibility and value engineering in design and models
• Create and present electrical safety or technical trainings for all engineering and maintenance teams, as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent expereince
• 15+ years work experience in heavy commercial and industrial sector (manufacturing, datacenter, hospital, campus, etc.)
• Registered as a CA Professional Engineer (PE)
• Desire to do the impossible with a positive and professional "never say die" attitude
• Expert knowledge of NEC & CBC codes
• Ability to communicate clearly and interface at an executive level
• Familiarity with REVIT MEP, Navisworks and general awareness of other BIM software applications

Expected Compensation

$124,000 - $222,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
