The IT Network Supervisor supervises staff and technical projects within an assigned technical area which may include, but are not limited to Telecommunications, Network, and Systems Administration.
The ideal candidate for the role will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related field. Essential Functions
Works in conjunction with Information Technology Manager(s) to devise strategic and tactical solutions required to meet overall business objectives. Plans, organizes, and supervises the activities and staff in one or more functional areas within the Innovation & Technology Department. Ensures issues related to assigned technical area are resolved within stated SLA guidelines. Assign available resources to meet deadlines. Responds to complaints and more difficult customer inquiries to ensure resolution; conducts research, provides solutions to problems and corrects errors; ensures staff compliance with customer service goals. Recommends technology solutions considering a number of factors including budget, business need, internal capabilities, and strategic direction. Designs, plans, leads, and manages projects within assignment area to meet project requirements and the City's defined disaster recovery objectives. Provides consulting, instruction, direction, and technical assistance to other departments as required for assigned technical area. Reviews IT project proposals from City departments and provide technical feedback and resources required. Evaluates, recommends, and performs upgrades to IT systems and infrastructure to ensure availability and minimize downtime. Develops documentation, checklists, and processes. Provide training as appropriate. Identifies improvement opportunities. Examples include but not limited to tools, processes, procedures, installation, configuration and troubleshooting techniques. Implements and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard the city infrastructure from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and potential data loss. Must be able to read, interpret and apply complex technical information, and relay that information to stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical users. Provides on-call support during non-business hours. Performs other related duties as assigned.
IT Infrastructure Supervisor (Network and Telephony)
Under general direction, is responsible for leading and participation in the design, development, analysis, testing, modification, installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and programs related to wide area networking, including hardware and software. Troubleshoots and correct network and phone infrastructure problems. Develops and monitor appropriate performance metrics to detect network and telephony performance deficiencies. Ensures accurate network operational procedures, records, documents, and drawings are maintained. Recommends direction for network architecture based on traffic requirements and technological evolution.
Minimum Qualifications/Special Requirements/Success Factors
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related field.

Regular status position's offer:
- The City of Glendale observes 10.5 holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 12 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays.
- Vacation leave accrues at 5.33 hours per pay period (138 hours per year), and increases to 6.12 hours after 5 years, and to 7.6 hours after 10 years of service.
- Sick leave accrues at 4.4 hours per pay period (114 hours per year).
- This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
- Contribution is mandatory, and the current contribution rate is 12.27%.
