SUPERVISOR OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
Central Office - Student Support Services
Position Effective: July 1, 2025
To provide leadership in developing and implementing school psychological programs, procedures, and practices in the Harford County Public Schools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY

Provides leadership for comprehensive, effective, and reasonably uniform programs and services delivered by school psychologists, Pre-K to 12.
Initiates and coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of psychological services, Pre-K to 12.
Conducts on-site observations of school psychologists, provides feedback and advice, and actively monitors and assesses all services provided by school psychologists and school psychology interns.
Participates with school-based administrators in the formal observation and evaluation of the performance, professional growth, and development of school psychologists.
Provides clinical supervision for school psychologists in accordance with established professional standards and ethics.
Plans and conducts professional development for school psychologists to promote improvements in their work performance and to implement changes in procedures and practices.
Disseminates information pertinent to the professional growth of school psychologists and trends in the provision of services, current research findings, etc.
Collaborates with the Department of Human Resources in the recruitment, selection, and placement of school psychologists and school psychologist interns.
Serves as the liaison with local, state, and national organizations and groups which focus upon school psychological services.
Develops and revises departmental procedures and guidelines in response to federal guidelines, state regulations, and district policies and procedures as needed.
Interprets the school psychology program, policies, objectives, and practices to students, teachers, parents and the public, as needed.
Provides direct guidance to the office of school safety regarding the inclusion of mental health considerations in safety initiatives.
Works collaboratively with other Supervisors within the Department of Student Support Services and Department of Special Education.
Directs the implementation of the County's threat assessment team training and provides consultative support in this area.
Participates in school team conferences and meetings, as appropriate.
Provides to the Executive Director of Student of Student Support Services reports and information to enable him/her to follow the operations of the department to coordinate its activities with those of other services.
Serves as a member of the Central IEP team.
Serves as a member of the Central Trauma Response Team; advises and assists school psychologists in crisis situations.
Assists in the preparation of the annual budget needed to provide adequate psychological services in alignment with industry standards that ensures that all students have equitable access to psychological consultation, assessment, and intervention services to address learning, behavioral, and mental health needs.
Develops and administers the Office of Psychological Services operating budget; orders and maintains test materials/supplies, licenses, and office supplies to support the work of the school psychologists.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
SALARY
This is a twelve-month position with twenty (20) days of annual leave. Salary range based on Grade 3 of the FY 2024-2025 APSASHC Salary Schedule for Administrative and Supervisory Personnel - 12 Month Employees. Starting Salary: $128,512- Maximum Earnings Potential $155,257. Those who are entering or returning to employment with Harford County Public Schools will begin on Step 1.
Those who earn 30 additional credits beyond a Master's Plus 30 will receive a $3,000 stipend.
Those who earn a Doctorate shall receive a $500 stipend.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in school psychology.
Hold an Advanced Professional Certificate endorsed in Administrator I and School Psychology.
Five years of successful experience as a school psychologist.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and other related computer technology.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Excellent organization skills.
