Description:
The Electrical Engineer will provide technical assurance for the design, start-up, and on-going support on, liquefaction and other renewable projects developed by Sempra Infrastructure. This position will be responsible for technical support of low and medium voltage generation and distribution systems to ensure the designs and operation are safe, fit-for-purpose and meet industry codes and project specifications. The Electrical Engineer is also responsible for monitoring that all electrical systems and equipment safely and performs to the requirements of the design and resolving technical issues.
The Electrical Engineer:
- Reviews EPC Contractor deliverables and makes recommendations to ensure the designs are safe, fit-for-purpose and meet industry codes and project specifications (including NFPA-70, NFPA 70-E, NFPA 101 and API 500.).
- Supports conceptual studies the electrical systems to improve the reliability, operability, and safety during the Operate Phase.
- Aids in the development of predictive maintenance planning for the rotating equipment kits and Turnaround Planning.
- Develops Asset Management Plans for the electrical equipment for the facility Operating Lifecycle.
- Provide technical support for the Maintenance Team of PALNG post-commissioning and startup.
The Electrical Engineer will aid in the development of the vendor contractors for Asset Management of the electrical systems (switchyard, transformers, electric drivers) and be responsible for supporting the technical aspects with vendors during the Operate Phase of the project. The Electrical Equipment Engineer will also assist with training of craft technicians and electricians. This position will be located in Port Arthur, Texas during commissioning, startup and Operate Phase of PALNG.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in Asset Management of the facility by performing technical reviews of engineering documents and single line drawings. Provides input on electrical system assessment, upgrades, and technical specifications; supports the implementation of the Asset Management Plan for the PALNG facility.
- Performs quality assurance reviews of EPC Contractor's deliverables, material/equipment selections and inspects installation to ensure compliance with applicable acceptance criteria, codes, and standards for a successful start-up and commissioning of PALNG.
- Participates in project design meetings, reviews, and workshops including HAZOP reviews and ETAP model reviews.
- Supports the development electrical systems testing plans and procedures, drives improvement projects and MOCs, reviews test reports and conducts troubleshooting for site electrical equipment.
- Helps to resolve electrical design, installation, and interface issues that arise at the project site during the startup and commissioning of the PALNG project.
- Travels to manufacturing facilities to inspect assembly of electrical equipment and attend factory testing. Observes installation of electrical materials, equipment, and systems at project sites. Site acceptance Test (SAT)
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineer - Required
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering - Preferred
Experience
- Petrochemical, Energy or LNG Industry experience with electrical systems, included but not limited to: power distribution, switchgears, UPS, motors and VFDs. Required
- Knowledge of IEEE Standards and National Electrical Code (NEC) Required
- Must be able to read and interpret CSA drawings and electrical drawings and reports, including plot plans, equipment general arrangements, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs). Required
- Implementation of Asset Management Plans for electrical equipment, including maintenance, testing, upgrade and obsolesce planning. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of standard electrical engineering systems, operating concepts, and documentation. Advanced
- Knowledge of the commissioning, startup, operations and troubleshooting of electrical equipment during the Operate Phase. Intermediate
- Demonstrated awareness of electrical codes, regulations, and standards such as NFPA-70, NFPA 70-E, NFPA 101 and API 500. Intermediate
- Understanding of Sempra Infrastructure work practices, policies, and procedures and how to apply them. Intermediate
- Knowledge of Managing Electrical Assets for the facility Operating Life Cycle. Intermediate

- Valid Driver's License - Required
- Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) -Required.
