Job Title: ECHO Vascular Technician
Job Specialty: ECHO Vascular Technician
Job Duration: 26 weeks
Shift: 8 hours, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum two years in an Echo/Vascular Laboratory
License: Relevant state license required
Certifications: ARDMS with RDCS or CCI with RCS for Echo; ARDMS with RVT or CCI with RVS for Vascular; AHA BLS certification required
Must-Have: Excellent knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, cardiac patient care, and treatment of cardiac diseases. Strong communication and computer skills, strong work ethic, and professionalism
Job Description:
- Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing circulation disorders/diseases.
- Produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses using ultrasound equipment.
- Calculate, measure, and document appropriate values for physician review and interpretation.
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms, carotids, abdominal aorta screenings, ABI, and arterial studies of upper and lower extremities.
- Demonstrate proper technique for injection of IV contrast or other test-enhancing solutions.
- Explain procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties.
- Communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers about changes in patient's conditions during studies.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of IV and central line usage in diagnostic medical sonography.
- Maintain the echo/vascular laboratory quality assurance database and operational logs.
- Ensure all echo and vascular laboratory studies are scheduled appropriately.
- Calibrate and maintain equipment, order supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- No weekend, on-call, or holiday expectations.
- Epic access and Rad Tech modules needed.
