Description:

Perform comprehensive data analysis across six stages of preparation: receipt, produce wash, preparation, storage, assembly, and final storage before service, incorporating stage-specific variables.
Create and implement a scalable data pipeline to process microbial measurement data from lab tables, ensuring data quality through rigorous cleaning, validation, and outlier removal.
Use simulations to assess risks in virus transmission scenarios.
Develop an interactive visualization to display microbial load.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Data Science and Statistical Analysis:
o Proficiency in regression analysis and statistical modeling.
o Experience with Monte Carlo simulations.
2. Microbiology and Food Safety: - not a must have, but good to know
o Knowledge of microbial growth patterns, particularly for pathogens like Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria.
o Understanding of food safety protocols and risk assessment.
3. Data Engineering:
o Experience with data pipeline design and implementation.
o Proficiency in using tools like dbt and Databricks for data processing and management.
o Skills in data cleaning, validation, and outlier detection.
4. Machine Learning and Model Deployment:
o Experience with MLflow for model deployment.
o Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries.
5. Data Visualization:
o Ability to create interactive visualizations, preferably with tools like ActiveGraf.
6. Programming and Software Skills:
o Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
o Experience with SQL for database management.
7. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
o Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data.
o Ability to design and conduct in-depth data analysis.
8. Communication and Collaboration:
o Strong communication skills to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
o Ability to document processes and results clearly.
