DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Transportation Planning Specialist Supervisor, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of data for transportation planning and highway engineering, including desktop and web base maps, and data layers. You will also supervise the coordination, preparation, and presentation of data required for transportation planning and programming functions; supervise the management and execution of emerging geospatial technologies and techniques; oversee the testing of new GIS software packages, technologies, and versions in preparation for implementation; and supervise support, technical assistance, and troubleshooting through service desk activities for Central Office bureaus and districts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, after successful completion of a probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- This position may be eligible for an alternate work schedule (AWS) after successful completion of a probationary period.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of professional transportation planning or transportation programming experience, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
