PenFed is hiring a Project Manager, Servicing & Support to work onsite at our San Antonio, Texas service center. PenFed is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, while efficiently managing resources, budgets, and timelines. The Project Manager will guide and mentor teams to maintain high productivity and quality standards, lead quality assurance processes, and resolve issues promptly. You will also provide regular status updates to senior leadership, implement necessary changes, and assess project outcomes for improvement. The role requires strong communication, risk management, and vendor negotiation skills, as well as a focus on aligning business, technology, and operational needs throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Lead the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with company's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
  • Define project tasks and required resources, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Manage the project budget and allocate resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Create a detailed project schedule and timeline, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide the project team, ensuring productivity and quality standards are maintained.
  • Lead quality assurance processes, relating to project implementation to monitor production, resolve issues, and provide viable solutions.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, including progress, issues, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage changes to project scope and deliverables as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Assess project outcomes, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and recommendations to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery from initiation to deployment, while maintaining focus on project milestones and success criteria.
  • Work closely with business leaders, technology teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between technology, operations, and business needs.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Business required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of project management experience, including planning and tracking projects.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing full product lifecycle, with understanding of development lifecycle and technology methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading, managing, and delivering projects on-time, within budget, and to scope.
  • Experience presenting project status and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, facilitate, and enhance performance across cross-functional teams.
  • Decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities.
  • Expertise in vendor contract negotiation and budget management.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects with external and internal teams, holding them accountable for performance.
  • Ability to gain buy-in from executives, sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise staff.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Agile Product Manager certification is preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
