Overview
This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Health Care credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
Responsibilities
Assess, evaluate and treat patients from 6 months through the geriatric population, accurately and timely. Diagnostics - Able to interpret basic EKG readings and lab test results. Evaluation and treatment of medical and surgical illness in patients from 6 months through geriatric population. Promotes prevention, utilizing risk assessment, coaching and counseling Evaluation, treatment and/or removal of foreign bodies. Evaluation and treatment of simple skin abscesses including incision and drainage. Possesses an energetic, compassionate and efficient work ethic with strong organizational skills and customer service skills including service recovery. Evaluation and treatment of nosebleeds in the pediatric through geriatric population, including device placement. Evaluation and repair of simple lacerations, including suturing, utilizing wound adhesive and liquid topical skin adhesive. Evaluation and management of general orthopedic injuries, including ordering x-rays, proper splinting, and treatment of simple fractures. Able to handle unexpected emergent situations appropriately.
Qualifications
Prefer experience in Pediatrics, GYN and Family Medicine. Prefer previous experience as a Physician Assistant /NP in Emergency Room, Walk-In Center, Wellness Center or Internal Medicine and/or Family Practice required. Prior experience with family practice, women's health (GYN only), and pediatrics preferred.
