The Specialist is a senior role within the Management Reporting Planning & Analysis (MRPA) team. Responsible for developing and reviewing financial analysis for the business units including monthly/quarterly reporting, monthly/quarterly forecast process and various ad hoc requests. Leads development and execution of the annual profit plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads special projects and ad hoc financial analysis requests to support the CEO and CFO.
  • Leads and coordinates the execution and development of the annual profit plan.
  • Provides financial/accounting support by managing and monitoring revenue and expense budgets.
  • Manages and/or participates in business case analysis to support the strategic direction of the corporation. Present business cases and other analysis to upper management and continue to enhance the corporate business case process.
  • Facilitate and collaborate with Business Unit Finance teams on the monthly/quarterly financial forecast.
  • Collaborate with development of Anaplan models for forecast and profit planning.
  • Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities.
  • Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.
  • Liaise with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.


Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. In-dept knowledge of accounting, reporting and financial analysis usually acquired through an advanced degree program or related work experience is required.
  • 10 + years of experience in a financial analysis role, preferably within a Finance organization, with a focus on using data to understand drivers of results and trends.
  • Advanced Excel skills are critical, and experience with Power BI/TM1/Anaplan is preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking, curiosity and creativity about how technology is used to solve business challenges.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences including executives.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • A college or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience in financial analysis.

Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
