Job Summary Under the supervision of the collaborating provider, the position collaborates with the psychiatrist and treatment team to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, create treatment plans, prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, educate patients, prepare medical records, and refer patients in compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and protocols governing the profession. Essential Functions Delivers both acute and long-term patient care, including medication prescriptions, injections, therapy monitoring, history taking, and evaluations. Conducts a comprehensive and prompt evaluation of the patient's state, encompassing physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative facets. Patients receive follow-up visits following medical appointments or transfers. Educates the patient and their family on how to manage the illness, and when needed, arranges care with internal and external disease management or case management organizations. Creates and executes care plans for patients, provides guidance and advice, and logs advancements in electronic medical records. Enter in the patient's medical record precise, comprehensive, and succinct documentation. Participate in frequent meetings with psychiatry to promote cooperation in practice administration. As assign, provides educational opportunities and presentations in the department. Whenever necessary, offers clinical staff training on new policies, protocols, and procedures. Determines issues and nursing needs, such as those related to discharge Plans medical care in accordance with guidelines. Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies the plan as needed. Delivers education in line with the patient's and family's learning choices and abilities. Order laboratory tests & interpret test results Effectively communicates with doctors, coworkers, patients, and families. Reports relevant patient observations to doctors and other members of the healthcare team. Maintains National Patient Safety Goals; Verifies, Coordinates, and Accurately Executes Physician Orders; Helps with the Smooth and Efficient Coordination of Interdepartmental Transfers Helps with the Interdepartmental Activities (Lab, Radiology, etc.) to Ensure Timely and Efficient Care Coordinates and Communicates with the Case Manager to Ensure Timely Discharge Patient Satisfaction, and Quality Care Throughout the Continuum of Care Shows understanding of department safety protocols, such as how to handle hazardous materials and equipment safely. Minimum Education/Certifications Master's degree New Jersey Registered Nurse license License for Psychiatric Advance Practice Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in NJ having jurisdiction over the practice location National Certification in the specialty field, Current DEA and CDS license Current CPR and ACLS certification. Minimum Work Experience 3 years' experience in behavioral health Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Monday through Friday; some telehealth services may need to be provided.
