Overall Job Responsibility:

Overall Job Responsibility:
The Manager of Facilities is responsible for maintaining both locations the Health Unit occupies in Windsor and Leamington. They will provide leadership, oversight and direction to a multidisciplinary Facilities team that includes maintenance/housekeeping and reception staff.
Key areas of Responsibility:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide supervision and direction to the Facilities Team.
- Manage the work schedule of the Facilities Team and provide on-going coaching and performance management to ensure a high level of support is provided in an efficient manner to the employees and clients of the organization.
- Negotiate and oversee contracts for all building maintenance, building related equipment and systems, security, parking, and grounds.
- Conduct and manage facility related Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) in accordance with the WECHU Procurement Policy and the Ontario Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive.
- Plan, develop, implement and manage all building related capital purchases and all building maintenance and capital projects, including those awarded to outside contractors and service providers,
- Prepare and oversee the annual operating budget for the Facilities Department.
- Become and maintain the necessary training to be a Management representative for the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees
- Schedule and supervise routine maintenance and repairs
- Serve as contact for facility landlords.
- Serve as the key point of contact in the event of facility emergencies
- Prioritize and escalate issues to the Director/CFO as appropriate
Position Qualifications:
Education, training, & experience
- Five years of property/facility experience
- Experience in project management, project administration or project
leadership - Prior management experience is preferred
- Experience in a healthcare facility is considered an asset.
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building and the Ontario Fire Code
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, versatile, and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with current computer applications (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- A valid Ontario Driver's Licence, access to a reliable motor vehicle during working hours, as well as 2 million dollars in liability insurance
- Satisfactory criminal reference check.
- Immunizations and TB screening as per WECHU policies
