ECS is seeking a Senior End User Support Specialist, providing support to our national laboratory customer in Albuquerque, NM.
This role will work on both classified and unclassified machines in a highly secure area. The work will be entirely onsite. The team is comprised of End User Support Techs doing both Windows and Linux work, System Administrators, Certified Project Managers and Cyber Security personnel. There is potential to learn other areas outside of desktop support for the right candidate. Selected candidate will work on a variety of customer programs and will need to be eligible to hold an SCI clearance which may require a polygraph. Security+ certification is required within 6 months of hire.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The selected candidate will provide both classified and unclassified Windows and Linux support to our customer base. They should have a strong customer service ethic and experience with Desktop System Administration. They should have the ability to translate technical terms into layperson terms and present them to audiences outside of the organization. The selected candidate must be willing to take and pass a polygraph if selected for random testing.

- AA in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of related experience. An additional 3 years of experience can be utilized in lieu of degree and must be directly related experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job PLUS Four (5) years related experience totaling 8 years of experience.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an Active DOE Q clearance
- Must be able to obtain a SCI for onsite support
- Must be willing to take and pass a Polygraph, if necessary
- Experience with computer desktop builds/rebuilds for networked and standalone environments
- Familiarity with network protocols, network management technologies, and network troubleshooting
- Experience with administrating and managing permissions and access to network resources utilizing Active Directory
- Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades
- Ability to understand the application and utilization of software packages, maintain accurate records
- Experience with Linux system administration
- Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues
- Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms
- Ability to define technical standards and functionality tests, and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers and vendors
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
- Collects, defines, and organizes detailed user requirements; defines, plans and deliverables for assigned projects; understands and complies with project budgets; conceptualizes, constructs, tests, implements, and/or operates integrated infrastructure solutions; recommends training plans
- Install and troubleshoot IT resources including desktops, desk phones as well as establish, and manage user accounts, upgrade, and patch software, and perform backup, storage, and recovery tasks
