SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Network Architect in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Ground Test (DTG).
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Network Operations Lead with the design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN networks and systems
- Assist the Network Operations Lead with the development and maintenance of network system and service configurations
- Assist the Network Operations Lead with the remediation of STIGs and other network and system cybersecurity-related tasks
- Document and troubleshoot network and system issues
- Create and maintain network diagrams and documentation
- Test and evaluate network systems and services to reduce problems and make improvements
- Assist with the configuration, implementation, and utilization of network tools such as Cisco ISE, Wireshark and Opmanager
- Assist with Network Design and Configuration standards for Cisco Routers/Switches and Palo Alto Firewalls
- Infrequent travel (up to 5%) to support various hardware upgrades at remote sites and coordination with teammates in Huntsville, AL
- Work infrequent night shifts (with sufficient prior notice) to support configuration changes
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field with fourteen (14) years of relevant experience. Six (6) years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required
- Must have CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Certification
- Must have CCNA or higher Cisco professional certification
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of Cisco routing/switching design and configuration
- First-hand experience designing/architecting networks
- Experience deploying and managing TACLANEs or other cryptographic equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio
- Ability to travel (CONUS and OCONUS - Up to 5% per year and up to 7 days at a time) and to obtain a US Passport
- Experience deploying and managing Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience with network management and monitoring toolsets such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Modeling Lab, Wireshark and Opmanager
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux workstation and server configuration and operation
- Familiarity with multicast network configuration, operation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications and AV endpoints such as VoIP Phones and VTC Units
- Familiarity with MDA Ground Test, Flight Test, War Games or Exercises
- CCNP certification preferred
