Position Overview
The Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations on construction sites. This role involves overseeing the implementation of safety programs, conducting inspections, and providing training to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel involved in the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific safety and health plans in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of the job site to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Provide safety training and orientation for all personnel on site, ensuring understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions, and report findings to management as required.
• Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters on the job site, including communication with federal and military representatives as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents on site, conducting investigations and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) in federal projects, particularly with the Army, Navy, or USACE projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in the construction industry.
• Certification in safety management or a related field (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, CSP).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate personnel.
• Experience in Quality Control (QC) management and collaboration with project superintendents.
• Ability to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies in a dynamic work environment.
