Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) to serve in a dual role as a clinical MA and MA Trainer. This position is ideal for an MA who is passionate about mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and supporting excellence in patient care. The MA Trainer will assist with the onboarding and training of new Medical Assistants, providing guidance on clinical workflows, patient interaction standards, and proficient use of the NextGen Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, while continuing to provide direct patient care alongside a designated physician.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Responsibilities (Approx. 30-40%):
  • Provide hands-on training to newly hired MAs, covering clinical protocols, patient interaction skills, and use of NextGen EMR.
    Assist with the creation and maintenance of training materials and standard operating procedures.
    Serve as a point of contact for MA trainees during their orientation period.
    Demonstrate and coach best practices in patient preparation, rooming, documentation, vitals collection, and follow-up care.
    Monitor progress of trainees and provide constructive feedback in collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor.
    Participate in continuous improvement of training programs based on feedback, observations, and clinical needs.

Clinical Responsibilities (Approx. 60-70%):
  • Perform all standard MA duties, including rooming patients, taking vitals, preparing patients for exams, administering injections, and documenting in the EMR.
    Assist provider with clinical procedures and patient care tasks.
    Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient and high-quality care.
    Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment.
    Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and organizational policies.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
    Current Medical Assistant certification or registration (CMA/RMA).
    Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting.
    Prior experience with NextGen EMR required.
    Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support peers or junior staff.
    Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
    Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, on-site position in a clinical setting. The role involves standing for long periods, interacting with patients, and working in collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.
