Job Description: Data Engineer
Role Overview: The Data Engineer will play a key role in understanding business objectives and challenges, identifying alternative solutions, and performing cost/benefit analysis. The role requires expertise in analyzing user requirements, automating processes, and improving existing systems. The engineer will work closely with stakeholders to define input and output requirements, document system functionalities, and evaluate system capabilities and constraints.

The engineer will work closely with stakeholders to define input and output requirements, document system functionalities, and evaluate system capabilities and constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current operational procedures to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data integration needs and implement optimized solutions.
- Develop and automate data acquisition from various data sources.
- Design, develop, and implement a data integration hub using agile methodologies.
- Create and optimize complex SQL scripts for data transformation and reporting.
- Develop automation solutions using Informatica Power Center/IICS for data extraction and transformation.
- Participate in all agile sprint ceremonies and contribute to project planning.
- Work closely with architects and data engineers to implement best practices for data integration.
- Validate and verify SQL scripts, Informatica automation, and database views.
- Develop technical documentation, including system specifications, workflows, and user training materials.
- Assist with the implementation and configuration of development tools.
- Interpret and adapt to evolving business requirements, ensuring systems remain scalable and efficient.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 13+ years of experience with J2EE technologies, JavaScript, and JSP.
- 13+ years of hands-on experience in front-end/UI development for enterprise web applications.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience in application development using Tomcat Server and web services.
- 8+ years of experience in data validation and quality assurance processes.
- 8+ years of experience developing technical documentation.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing SQL scripts for Snowflake.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in system analysis for data analytics or data warehousing projects.
- Proficiency in modeling and diagramming tools (Visio, Erwin) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in agile sprint teams and familiarity with JIRA software.
- Business analysis experience with a focus on healthcare data.
- Experience integrating Tableau dashboards into web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing efficient, well-designed, and testable code.
- Understanding of security principles related to healthcare data.
- Familiarity with performance metrics, data visualization, or business intelligence environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry.
- Experience handling PII or PHI data.
- Knowledge of Web Services (REST, SOAP) and their integration within applications.
