Utah State Parks is seeking a Deputy Director of Business & Administrative Services to lead and oversee the business functions of the Division. This is an exciting executive-level opportunity to join our leadership team and play a central role in the financial and operational strategy of Utah's state park system.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive-level leadership and oversight for the Division's business and administrative services, including:
- Financial management
- Contracts
- Communications and public information
- Heritage programs
- Purchasing and construction
- Coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources, Governor's Office of Management and Budget (GOMB), and the Legislative Fiscal Analyst's Office
- Participate on the Division's executive leadership team to set short- and long-term strategic direction
- Develop and implement Division-wide policies and procedures that align with state regulations and agency goals
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Skill in the theory and practical application of management strategies to maximize resource effectiveness
- Strong knowledge of laws, rules, and policies related to the administration of state government
- Ability to work collaboratively with executive leaders, peers, and staff
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to a diverse audience
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in business, communications, management, planning, or a related field, or at least five years of paid professional experience directly related to the responsibilities of this position
- Experience working in state or public sector leadership
- Experience with legislative coordination or strategic policy development
- Familiarity with Utah's public budgeting and procurement systems
