Position Purpose

The Senior Manager of Retirement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan manages the daily activities of both qualified and non-qualified (NQ) retirement plan administration, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures expected levels of vendor customer service is provided to plan participants and company. The Senior Manager coordinates year-end reporting, quarterly Retirement Plan Committee and Investment review meetings with the committee members appointed by the Board of Directors and ensures members have the review materials and facilitates the meeting itself. The Senior Manager, manages the employee stock purchase plan daily activities, completes the full cycle of timely monthly purchase activities. Review, interpret and maintain plan documents with assistance from ERISA Counsel.

Responsibilities & Task
  • Manages daily activity for company qualified 401(k), non-qualified deferred compensation and Puerto Rico 401(k) plans.
  • Maintains relationships with retirement and stock plan vendors, investment advisor, ERISA Counsel and outside auditors.
  • Reviews NQ quarterly trust statements for accuracy.
  • Reconciles monthly delinquent loan reports for all qualified 401(k) plans.
  • Monitors plans' forfeiture and remuneration accounts, instructs recordkeepers usage of accounts, and coordinates with accounting.
  • Processes all vendor service fee invoices in a timely manner.
  • Works with retirement plan record-keeper to schedule participant educational meetings, develop campaigns and promote participation.
  • Facilitates the quarterly Retirement Plan Committee meetings.
  • Understands retirement plan regulations and provisions and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Assists with Requests for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposals (RFP)
  • Reviews annual test results for accuracy.
  • Responsible for all timely government filings and employee notices.
  • Processes the monthly Employee Stock purchase.
  • Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
  • Directs and manages the annual outside audit of the qualified plans.
  • Communicates directly and timely to all employee inquiries.
  • Manages the NQ Plan annual enrollment, contributions, and distributions.
  • Ensures all retirement plans' compliance with regulations (IRS and DOL).
  • This position sits in our Birmingham AL home office. This is not a remote position.
