Job Details:
Position Title: Manager, Executive and President Communications
Status: FT Administration
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Faculty/Department: Office of the President
Campus/Location: North Campus, hybrid (minimum of 3days in office per week)
Minimum Starting Salary: $103,276.00 starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About the Manager, Executive and President Communications Role:

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Manager of Executive and President Communications will lead and collaborate on communications tasks and activities that support Humber's presiden t; v ice- p resident, Inclusion and Belonging ; and college-wide Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) initiatives.

The Manager, Executive and President Communications is a skilled communications professional with a passion for crafting impactful messages, fostering meaningful engagement, and ensuring clear, strategic communication on behalf of the executive team and the President . The Manager is committed to making a difference through relationship building and promoting Humber's diverse communities and cultures. Working on the Communications team and directly with the Office of the President , the Manager will develop, share and promote stories, materials and activities and provide strategic advi ce across the college to build good relations and positively impact the institution .

The role requires expertise in communications/public relations, writing along with experience and knowledge in social impact, equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. About You:

Education
Four-year degree in a field such as Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Media Communications, English or a communications-related field.

Experience/Skills

  • A minimum of seven years working in a communications/public relations role in a fast-paced continuously changing environment in progressive positions, roles and responsibilities.
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic communication plans for senior leadership, including Presidents, and/or executive teams.
  • Superior writing and editing skills for speeches, print, web and social media
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy, combined with political acuity
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues, ensuring messaging aligns with institutional priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship building and oral communication skills
  • A successful record of creating and executing communication strategies that enable an organization's desired cultural outcomes
  • Proven ability to think strategically, be creative, and take initiative
  • Experience in effectively managing, training and motivating a team
  • Experience working in a higher education, government, or public sector environment is an asset.
