Practice Details
Sanford Health is currently seeking BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeons to join their team. The practice, one of Sanford's Centers of Excellence, is located in Fargo, North Dakota.
Generalists and fellowship training will both be considered
Sanford Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine is based in a state-of-the-art four-story orthopedic clinic/orthopedic specialty hospital
Join a team of 20 physicians and 19 advanced practice providers
On-site imaging and therapy, 10 operating rooms and dedicated inpatient orthopedic unit
ROSA Robot, Bioskills & Biomechanical labs
Several sub-specialties are represented, including: adult reconstruction, oncologic, sports medicine, trauma, hand, general, pediatrics, and primary care
Over 9000 ortho surgeries are performed annually
Orthopedic Residency Program
Academic appointment available through University of North Dakota

Job Description
Orthopedic Surgery Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care and perform orthopedic surgical procedures for patients of all ages - except where specifically excluded from practice.

Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.

Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways:
An applicant who has just completed a residency or Fellowship shall provide his/her residency or Fellowship log.
OR
An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery
procedures in the last 24 months.
OR
If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months.

More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Successful completion of a hospital affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above may be considered by the; Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors.

Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. For those applicants that are not board certified at the time of application, but who have completed their residency training within the last five years; must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions) waives such requirement.
