ROLE SUMMARY: The Project Leader is responsible for project outcomes by managing clients and project team members to deliver on a contracted scope of work. Success in this role is measured by the effectiveness of balancing project requirements and constraints - quality, efficiency and adherence to scope of work, and schedule.

A. Project Delivery
- Liases between the Design Director and George and Glenn; contributes to and executes on project strategy, assists the Design Director in setting context for reviews and workshops, and helps the team to interpret and debrief feedback.
- Managing and tracking project deliverable deadlines to achieve team's monthly financial goals.
- Actively contributes to the design production while overseeing the project team.
- Develops project team schedules; assigns and oversees project tasks for all designers assigned to the project being led.
- Communicating with client, Design Director, Project Manager and team, conveying project information and raising risks and opportunities for the project.
- Coordinating with project consultants such as lighting, signage, art, etc. on the delivery of the project.
- Solves project-related challenges as they arise, escalating to the Design Director as necessary.
- Proactively anticipates client needs; effectively identifies problem areas and negotiates and mediates when necessary to resolve issues
B. Quality Control
- Reviews work produced by project team members for alignment with concept, design direction, aesthetic, and adherence to standards. Vets the work of the project team prior to internal reviews with Design Director and/or Founders.
- Attends site reviews as required.
C. Managing and growing the team
- Creates and communicates clear expectations on deliverables & tasks for project team members.
- Maintain frequent communication to offer encouragement, amend tasks, and provide updates on design progress.
- Nurtures collaboration amongst team members. Creates a work environment that encourages creativity and innovation to achieve design excellence. Ensures designers have the information and tools to successfully complete their work and supports the drive for excellence.
- Supports staff members in their growth and development plans; actively contributes to onboarding, training and mentoring.
- Willingly shares knowledge and ideas with others, helping others to improve their own skills and expertise.
- Reward team members for their continued efforts and celebrate accomplishments, makes people feel valued.
D. Design Leadership
- Contributes to establishing team strategy and goals, as well as driving process improvement
- Communicates and implements team strategy, goals and process improvement within own team and projects
- Raises concerns, makes suggestions and takes initiative to maintain team synergy.
- Quickly and effectively identifies and resolves team conflicts.

- Hand Sketching and Software skills (AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Revit, etc.)
- Ability to positively give and receive feedback as a tool for growth and evolution (personal and design)
- Demonstrated success supervising others including leadership, team building, delegation, communication, mentorship, setting expectations and holding others accountable.
- Associate's degree in a related field of Design (Interior, Architecture, Industrial, Fashion, etc.)
- Minimum 5 years of work experience across all phases of design
