Requirements
Financial & Accounting Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership and direction to the organization, ensuring overall financial health and stability. This includes ensuring smooth operations of the daily accounting functions, maintaining the integrity of information/data affecting the general ledger, providing accurate, timely financial reporting, maintaining adherence to internal controls, and following US generally accepted accounting principles.
Serve as an integral member of the leadership team, working closely with operations, sales, and engineering to drive overall business success.
Financial Planning and Analysis: To support business planning and decision-making, develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvement.
Plan, direct, and manage all accounting and finance-related activities, including cash flow, accruals, monthly close, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reporting trends to management, preparing and reviewing the budget to actual performance, forecasting, etc.
Overall responsibility for the general ledger, including review of journal entries and monthly reconciliations; performs meaningful variance analysis and presents results to leadership.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for the accounting team; create an environment that inspires, fosters, and encourages team members to express differing views, approaches, and solutions that deliver the best results for the company.
Manage a timely and accurate financial close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis; implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles.
Responsible for preparing and presenting standard monthly management reporting package to designated leadership team members.
Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies while maintaining high-quality standards.
Oversee and participate in Sales Tax projects.
Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting; monitor and enforce internal controls to minimize risk to the company.
Support establishing annual financial objectives aligning with the company's operations, growth, and expansion plans, including revenues, expenses, and overall profitability.
Manages the annual external audit and the annual tax filings with outside firms.
Serves as the key technical expert for accounting matters and helps to inform business decisions that increase the company's value.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions; assists with ad-hoc financial information requests from Executive Management and other departments.
Maintain all business insurance policies, look for cost savings, and ensure no lapse in coverage.
Lead point of contact with the bank: maintaining compliance requirements, approving transactions, and providing oversight of all accounts.
Manages other projects as needed (e.g., system implementations/upgrades, KPIs).
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; an MBA is strongly preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience is required.
4+ years managing a team of direct reports; proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Manufacturing industry experience required.
QuickBooks experience is preferred.
Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues, identify and provide sound guidance for resolution.
Expert level of proficiency in Excel required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources, and collaborate across disciplines and locations.
Self-motivated and independent, detail-oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards.

- The VP of Finance position is vital for the organization and directs all accounting operations. Overseeing the Accounting team, you will ensure all accounting is within GAAP. Additionally, the Controller will oversee all cost accounting, sales tax, internal controls, timely month-end close, P2P, O2C, ERP system, and produce monthly financial statements. This role also Leads the development of financial strategy, planning, projections, and budgets that focus on long-term fiscal sustainability.
