Remote/Telework up to 60%. Your Role

As a Business Analyst, you will help achieve the agency goal of enabling DOR to operate efficiently and effectively. Your business analysis skills will help manage project activities and elicit business requirements for our high performing business application development teams. Your business analysis tasks will include:
  • Define high level business needs and facilitates business requirements meetings with business partners
  • Work with project teams to elicit and document business and functional requirements, create process flows, and identify system enhancements.
  • Guide the analysis, design, programming, testing and implementation for assigned projects and systems using Agile, Waterfall and Iterative methodologies.
  • Coordinate the resolution of system issues with business and technical staff.
  • Communicating and coordinating project teams compose of a wide variety of DOR employees and vendors.

Position Summary

Salary Information

Salary for this IS Business Automation Specialist position (schedule-range 07-33) is $83,158 to $94,248 annually ($39.98 to $45.36 hourly), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

The Department of Revenue will conduct criminal background, tax compliance checks and fingerprint checks on candidates prior to offer of hire.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The Department of Revenue does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time. DOR participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information for all new employees to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

Minimum qualified candidates will have experience in each of the following areas.

1. Experience eliciting and/or writing business requirements gathered from a diverse set of business users (e.g., different areas and levels) in order to communicate specific business needs for a systems change.

2. Experience coordinating with others for system testing (e.g., writing test plans and scenarios, user acceptance testing, analyze test results, etc.).

3. Experience identifying system problems and initiating corrective actions (e.g., coordinating resolution of system issues with developers and business users, etc.).

4. IT project management experience in facilitating/leading project teams through stages of a project management to meet the project's business requirements (e.g., deadlines, resources, scope, etc.).

Well qualified candidates will have experience in a minimum of two (2) of the following (in addition to the minimum qualifications):

1. Experience working with complex, highly regulated/multifaceted systems that are governed and/or influenced by federal and state laws, policies, and/or guidelines.

2. Experience using more than one type of project methodology (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, etc.) in project management work.

3. Experience facilitating/leading multi-project portfolios or initiatives.

4. Experience with data analysis. (e.g., collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources).

5. Experience mapping out business process flows (e.g., identifying process improvements, risks, or gaps through process flow diagrams and or flowcharts) .
