PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

The Product Development Analyst position is responsible for supporting Product Development staff members in their administration of the tasks/processes required to develop, file and implement insurance products used by the Programs Division.

How you will create an impact
  • Support Product Development Managers on various product and filings related tasks.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Programs team, and between the Programs staff, the State Filings Department, and the Program Administrator.
  • Handle administrative and technical aspects of the product development and state filings processes. Format policy forms/endorsements, assign form numbers/edition dates, etc. Perform simple forms drafting such as State amendatory endorsements. Assist with the development of form/rate/rule manuals.
  • Provide filings preparation support filing including completion of related transmission documentation (request forms, transmittals, checklists, forms lists, explanatory memoranda, etc.).
  • Perform product and related compliance maintenance (including update of UM/UIM Status Sheets & IRPM/Schedule Mod Workbooks as an example, reviewing and intake of bureau circulars, review, intake and implementation of corporate changes, and drafting and implementation of regulatory/bureau form changes).
  • Provide support for the manuscript endorsement request/development process.
  • Update and maintain product library, forms lists, product form/rate/rule manuals, product repositories including the Global Forms Library, status sheets, etc.
  • Track progress of filing approvals and respond to requests for filing status and copies of forms and/or filings.
  • Support requests for competitive analysis, and product and filing research for Program Managers, Product Line Officers, Actuarial, Systems and other Stakeholders.
  • Resolve product and filings discrepancies.
  • Upload completed filings to AIG Programs external website and internal SharePoint repository.
  • Assist with systems implementation of products.
  • Assist with product inquiries on Market Conduct Exams.
  • Align with Product Development staff members to further expertise in insurance product development and filing processes.
  • Additional ad-hoc requests and handling of special projects as requested by VP of Product Development.


What you'll need to succeed

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in insurance industry.
  • Experience in Commercial Lines property/casualty insurance products.
  • Working knowledge of ISO Commercial Lines and AAIS products, package policy structure, and Programs business.
  • Bachelor's degree and insurance designations (CPCU, AU, ARM, etc.) preferred, will consider applicable insurance experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint.
  • Strong research skills, including use of AM Best State Filings, RateFilings.com, SERFF, etc.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ the base salary range is $76,000-$102,000. For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $70,000-$95,000.
