Minimum Requirements for Application
This recruitment will produce two eligible lists. The restricted list will be for full-time, permanent part-time, or part-time City and Port of Oakland employees who maintain employment for the duration of the recruitment and pass all stages of the recruitment process. Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the following minimum qualifications may be acceptable.
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture or closely related field.
Experience: Three years mid-level project management and construction management experience in a public works, civil works and institutional building setting. One year of experience comparable to a Construction Inspection Supervisor in the City of Oakland.
License or Certificate / Other Requirements
Individuals who are appointed to this position may be required to maintain a valid California Driver's License throughout the tenure of employment OR demonstrate the ability to travel to various locations in a timely manner as required in the performance of duties.

- Ensuring compliance with permit conditions, excavation regulations, and applicable City codes; issuing notices of violation as necessary.
- Reviewing utility excavation permit plans, determining appropriate work scope and methods, and authorizing field modifications as required.
- Acting as the primary point of contact between senior OakDOT leadership and utility companies, contractors, and other right-of-way users.
- Investigating and resolving public complaints; providing guidance to the public on code compliance and technical requirements.
