Description:

The Director of Development will be a strategic leader responsible for advancing the fundraising efforts of Pony Bird, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. This individual will oversee or direct all aspects of the organization's development strategy, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, grant writing, annual campaigns, events, and donor relations.

The Director will play a pivotal role in securing the financial resources necessary to support and expand the organization's mission and programs. This person will work closely with the executive team, board members, and other key stakeholders to cultivate a culture of philanthropy and ensure sustainable revenue growth.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $110,000 based on education and experience

Job Details:
  • You will design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external stakeholders by cultivating corporate and individual philanthropic support.
  • This individual will create new relationships to build visibility, impact, and financial resources.
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow the development budget by obtaining funds from foundations, corporations, individuals and government sources through grant writing, annual appeals, events and strategic campaigns.

Qualifications:
  • High energy and passion for Pony Bird's mission is essential.
  • Successful grant writing experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.
  • High proficiency in database management and donor relations software programs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Certified Fund Raising Exectuive (CFRE) preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising in the non-profit sector
  • Great deadline driven organizational and planning skills
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of internal staff and donors
