DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides professional veterinary expertise in thoroughbred and/or standardbred racetrack regulatory medicine and supervises the Bleeder Medication Program and test barn activities. This position also administers Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services programs and legislatively mandated laws and regulations in the assigned PDA region to provide animal disease surveillance and control. The successful candidate will embody a commitment to excellence in veterinary practice and regulatory compliance, fostering a culture of vigilance and care within the equine community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience as a veterinarian and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or a Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) from an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited college or university.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a State Board of Veterinary Medicine.
- All employees must obtain an active license to practice veterinary medicine issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Veterinary Medicine within six months of hire.
- All positions must obtain United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Category II Accreditation within six months of hire.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
