Your Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Regional Automation and Robotics Expert as part of our commercial team to spearhead our growth in the microbiology applications within the pharmaceutical industry. This pivotal role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a proven track record in driving sales achievement. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the complete sales cycle of our Millipore Sigma Automation and Robotics Solutions (MARS), from pre-sales through to post-sales, ensuring seamless customer experience and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Cycle Management: Lead and manage the entire sales cycle for automation and robotics solutions in microbiology, from initial customer engagement through to closing and post-sales support.
  • Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, including decision-makers, influencers, and end-users.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical support and consultation to customers, demonstrating the value of our products with a thorough understanding of microbiology applications, automation and robotics solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, leveraging market knowledge and industry connections to expand our customer base.
  • Solution Customization: Work closely with customers to understand their specific needs and tailor solutions to meet those requirements, ensuring optimal satisfaction and performance.
  • Deepen Market Knowledge: Gathering and reporting information on trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth, providing strategic insights to the sales and marketing organisations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management (IPLCM), commercial excellence and marketing, to ensure alignment and support for business development activities.
  • Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct compelling presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our automation and robotics solutions.
  • Post-Sales Support: Ensure customer success by providing ongoing technical support, training, and troubleshooting assistance post-implementation.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status. Prepare accurate forecasts and regular reports and for senior leadership on business development progress and challenges.


Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in sales within the life Sciences industry, preferably related to automation/robotics or microbiology applications. Experienced in managing high value complex sales.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of microbiology and/or automation and robotics technologies used in pharmaceutical applications.
  • Business Acumen: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Ability to develop and execute strategic business and account plans.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience. Fluent in English, second language a plus.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, propose innovative solutions, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within the region as required to meet with customers and attend industry events.
