This role drives initiatives that foster collaboration, mutual respect, and sustainable development, ensuring that the interests of Indigenous communities are integrated into SaskEnergy's operations.

Position Details
- Non-union. This position is permanent full time.
Key Accountabilities
- Participate in projects that involve Indigenous communities, ensuring they are executed with cultural sensitivity and in alignment with community values, this includes leading the Indigenous Monitor Program for natural gas projects.
- Lead outreach efforts with Indigenous organizations and communities by developing and maintaining strong relationships and creating connections with internal business areas.
- Collaborate with internal business units to implement strategies that align with both company goals and Indigenous community interests, and act as a liaison and advocate for Indigenous communities within the company.
- Promote and support gasification and sustainable development projects that benefit both the company and Indigenous communities.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts within Indigenous communities and related organizations to stay informed about trends, opportunities, and challenges.
- Plan and coordinate events and meetings that facilitate dialogue and collaboration between Indigenous communities and the company.
- Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on engagement activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
- Establish and maintain feedback mechanisms to continuously improve engagement strategies and practices.
- Lead efforts with First Nations to acquire the required permits for natural gas installations.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Degree in Business or a related field.
- Five (5) years of related experience that includes developing and fostering collaborative working relationships with First Nations and Mtis communities.
- Highly collaborative; interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build, manage and foster relationships across the organization and external parties.
- Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
- Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
- Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
