Job Function:
Coordinate effectively and liaise with customers, manufacturers, carriers and the shipping industry.
Job Responsibility Description - Main Activities
1 Formation of tactical sales & marketing strategies to support short, mid & long-term business growth.
2 Identify and penetrate new market segment or customer's base.
3 Develop and implement marketing and service initiatives to manage and implement supply chain business building programs and initiatives with customers in support of the company's business growth
4 Manage the planning process and execute standardized procedures to ensure all daily operation activities are executed and met according to the customer service levels.
5 Build a strong win-win customer relationship to ensure customer retention and development solution to growth existing business.
6 Diligently review and improve business processes to improve productivity and add value to the Company
7 Manage the effective implementation and use of the appropriate technology in all sections of the service chain, to enhance service and improve productivity.
8 Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of departmental goals & targets set.
9 Ascertain industry/logistics best practices to identify new and/or unique programs to differentiate customers from the marketplace and drive customer satisfaction.
10 Select and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
11 Manage on-going partner relationships.
12 Root cause analysis and problem resolution for all logistics operations.
13 Serve as liaison with all internal and external partners for daily operational activities.
14 Track, analyze and communicate key performance metrics.
15 Responsible for all logistics operations and support across all industry channels.
16 Ensures coordination of facility and equipment repairs, safety maintenance of all operations through appropriate terminal personnel or outside vendor.
17 Ensure budgeted and planned sales targets are reviewed and met.
18 Train new employees and counsel personnel with feedback, coaching and discipline as needed for improved job performance.
19 Crate and maintain a healthy team spirit with employees. Direct investigations into causes of vendor complaints and recommend solutions to correct them.
20 Direct investigations into causes of vendor complaints and recommend solutions to correct them.
21 Keep current on changes or new procedures within the Company.
22 Conduct meetings with all employees to keep them up to date with pertinent changes within the business industry we participate.
23 Will work in all areas relative to the operation of the terminal and support the development of safety operations with transportation and warehouse managers
24 Manage day-to-day relationship with vendors on project matters; provide regular status reports and proactively offer solutions to ensure quality of service
25 Facilitate effective communication within the management team.
26 Provide support to the management team in costing and planning projects and with some necessary customer presentations.
27 Creates detailed Request for Quote (RFQ) package for suppliers/contractors to bid on. Evaluates proposals for the requested service/s in the form of side-by-side comparisons. Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers/vendors in cooperation with department manager concerned to determine if they meet the specified requirements. Advises team members and/or management on the appropriate supplier to be used. Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the service balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
28 Implement purchase contracts that comply with company's vendor selection policy.
29 Ensure completion of all project-driven operational processes.
DESIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required (in business, transportation, logistics or related field preferred).
Six to eight years related experience, including operations/stevedoring/vessel cargo operations or terminal operations.
Six years supervisory experience (in business, transportation, logistics or related field)
