Job Overview

The HRTD Coordinator (Staffing) is responsible for providing HR support regarding all aspects of recruitment, hiring, and staffing for school-based or central office programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
  • Counsels applicants and employees in matters of licensure, job qualifications, evaluations, career pathways, resignations/termination/retirement and other professional issues.
  • Partners with hiring managers in recruiting, interviewing, screening and making recommendations regarding personnel for employment; assists in the orientation of new personnel and provides information, direction and assistance in implementing HR policies.
  • Supports in-person work tasks to include, but not limited to job fairs, interviews, drug testing, attending school board or committee meetings, and visiting schools and/or other offices to meet with staff.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of communication and trainings to inform and educate employees and supervisors.
  • Represents the School Division in unemployment hearings as required by the Virginia Employment Commission and the other states as required.
  • Reviews and assures compliance with Federal, State and other statutes and regulations affecting human resources programs.
  • Leads special projects related to the development of business process, changes to policies and regulations, implementations of new trainings, etc.


Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field

Experience

Five years of experience in human resource environments or school-based environments in a licensed or administrative role

Licenses and Certifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public school administration, human resources administration, and equal employment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, applicant tracking technology, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a preference for detail
  • Demonstrated the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel and within the community
  • Demonstrated the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high volume work environment
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision, prioritize work effectively and utilize time management skills

Salary Level: Universal 18

Salary Scale: https://www.lcps.org/compensation

Salary Range: $104,795 - $168,139

Remote Work Eligible: Partial
