The Boeing Company is searching for a Senior Mission Assurance Division Leader for our BDS Vertical Lift Division in Ridley Park, PA or Mesa, AZ.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering.
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.
  • Co-lead Flight Test Mission Assurance Readiness reviews
  • Perform/Lead Technical Independent Reviews
  • Perform/Lead Root Cause Corrective Action efforts
  • Coordinate Mission Assurance activities with the Division Chief Engineer, VL Engineering Leadership Team, and Program Chief Engineers
  • Co-Chair Division Safety Review Board
  • Support BDS Chief Engineer Safety Review Board
  • Support BDS CEO Safety Review Board
  • Manage system safety engineers supporting VL programs
  • Fulfill VL staffing needs for System Safety engineers
  • Promote and execute Safety Management System four pillars.
  • Ensure safety escalation reporting and evaluation timelines are met
  • Ensure the timely investigation and reporting for Notices of Escapement impact on Safety of Flight
  • Ensure integrity and quality of System Safety CDRLs, reports, investigations, and analyses
  • Provide Safety metrics for monthly VL Engineering Health Assessment meeting with BDS CE


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • Experience with systems safety and Mission Assurance on military vertical lift platforms
  • Experience in Technical Independent Review and Root Cause Corrective Action activities
  • 6+ years management experience in leading a diverse team


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in BDS Safety Review process and knowledge with SMS implementation
  • Experience in Flight / Test Mission Assurance Readiness Review (F/TMARR)
  • Strong Leadership & Communication skills. Experience in working closely with engineering leadership, executive and customers

M-Level Manager: $178,500 - $258,750
