GreenXT is seeking a Controls Engineer to support their Navy customer in the areas of Cybersecure Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Control Systems and Networks.

Responsibilities:
- Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes:
- Provide Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) design support for the integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.
- Provide technical input to the design of future MCS systems
- Develop, derive and refine system and software requirements for future fielded systems
- Troubleshooting complex problems of future fielded systems (PLC based control systems) bot at Land Based Engineering Site and shipboard
- Review of technical documentation related to future fielded systems
- Provide test support at Land Based Engineering Site
- Provide shipboard Software and Hardware installation support
- Develop and review technical documentation that includes, but is not limited to, requirements documents, design documents, test procedures, test plans, installation procedures, engineering analysis, and standard operating procedures
- Provide distance and on-site customer support as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an equivalent technical field
- Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) will be required
- Proficient with Programmable Logic Controller (Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Bedrock, Honeywell, Eaton, or similar); 6+ months of experience or the ability to take various PLC classes for familiarity
- Experience with the design, development, and testing of industrial control systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings
- Proficiency in the use of test tools associated with industrial control systems
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
- Basic Technical writing ability
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces (if needed), with the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but nothing greater than 30 lbs.

- Knowledge of US Navy Ship Systems
- Atlassian tools suite - Jira/ Wiki/ confluence
- Microsoft Project
- Prior industrial shipyard and shipboard experience
- A combination of software and hardware installation experience
- Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 standard
- Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
