Description:
Recommend technical approaches using the existing products and developing proof of concept software solutions for integrating with IT software. Establish credibility with our customers by using your industry experience to integrate with MathWorks products. Lead technical projects with key enterprise customers. Collaborate with internal sales and other customer-facing staff for successful customer adoption of MathWorks products. Develop software reference architectures and extensions to MathWorks products, as needed, to meet customer needs. Act as a product champion and echo the voice of the customer to our Marketing and Development organizations. Travel anywhere from 5% to 30%, generally throughout US to EMEA and Asia. May telecommute up to 40%.

Minimum Qualifications:
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering [any], Mathematical Sciences, or related field and [7] seven years of experience in a Principal Application Engineer - related occupation.
Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering [any], Mathematical Sciences, or a related field and [4] four years of experience in a Principal Application Engineer - related occupation or a PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering [any], Mathematical Sciences, or related field and [2] two years of experience in a Principal Application Engineer - related occupation.
Position requires demonstratable experience with the following:
Programming knowledge of at least one: Java, JavaScript, .NET, C/C++, or MATLAB; Working knowledge in CI/CD workflows and tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, Octopus, or GitLab); Working knowledge in Cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP); Working knowledge with Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift); Basic programming knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, bash, Go, or similar); Customer-facing experience; Knowledge of distributed and transactional systems, microservices, web services (REST/SOAP), and algorithmic techniques/design patterns; Git; and Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following: BigData techniques (Hadoop or Spark); Data streaming and IoT related technologies (Kafka or IoT Hub); Databases (Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server or Cassandra; or Visualization (Tableau, Power BI or Spotfire).
