Position Overview

We are an NYC real estate owner / operator / developer and are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Construction Project Management team. The position will be focused on work within our existing portfolio of properties. Project types will be wide ranging, and the successful candidate can expect to be involved in commercial office interior projects, capital improvement programs, and ground up new construction.

Supervisory/Leadership Responsibilities
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and other field personnel (architects, engineers, etc.)
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and lead a process from start to finish


General Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist with design team coordination for development of project plans & specifications.
  • Assist in coordination of project agency filings, approvals, permitting.
  • Coordinate with project teams on development of preconstruction and logistics programs.
  • Maintain project compliance as it relates to agency requirements, property rules & requirements, lease requirements, insurance program requirements.
  • Maintain project financial records - budgets & anticipated cost reports (Yardi system).
  • Coordinate with internal accounting team for processing of project consultant & contractor billings (Yardi system).
  • Administration of project record keeping.
  • Produce project status reports for stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules (MS Project).
  • Coordinate execution of the project scopes with contractors and subcontracts.
  • Maintain construction management platform for ongoing projects (Procore system).
  • Assist in the development of project quantity takeoffs, scopes, cost estimates (Bluebeam & MS Excel).


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 1 - 2 years' of relevant construction experience


Physical Requirements
5 days on-site required (corporate and field)
Ability to safely navigate a construction site
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to communicate both on the phone and in person with our clients to resolve issues and manage the business.

Wages & benefits:
$75,000 - $95,000 annually

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and building codes a plus

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with submittals, RFIs, and intermediate Excel skills preferred
  • System experience with Yardi, Procure, MS Project, Bluebeam, a plus
