ECS is seeking a COMSEC Lead to work in our Fairfax, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

ECS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Security (COMSEC) Lead to oversee and manage all aspects of communications security for a National Security client. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in safeguarding sensitive communications, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and leading a team of professionals in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of critical information. As the COMSEC Lead, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and managing COMSEC policies, procedures, and technologies to protect communication systems and data from interception, disruption, and unauthorized access.

Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement the COMSEC program
Oversee COMSEC key management and distribution
Conduct COMSEC training and awareness programs
Manage COMSEC incidents and breaches
Liaise with the National Security Agency (NSA), DOE COR or other relevant authorities
Ensure compliance with CNSSI No. 4005 and other relevant regulations
COMSEC Lead will be required to attend COMSEC and TACLANE training, post-award
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of communication security technologies, network security, protocols, and practices, such as, type-1 and type-2 encryptors and managing cryptographic materials.
Leadership Experience: Experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members is crucial.
Communication: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle security incidents and vulnerabilities.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other IT teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Leadership Experience: Experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members is crucial.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Telecommunications, or a related field; OR
Master's degree in a relevant field can be beneficial and may enhance your qualifications.

All the following certifications are desired, but only one certification is required:
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional): Emphasizes technical and managerial knowledge and experience in designing, engineering, and managing an organization's overall security posture across a broad spectrum of cybersecurity domains.
Security+ (Gives a baseline for fundamental security concept, including encryption and key management.
