This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three (3) days in-office based out of our West Sacramento office and two (2) days working remotely.

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated leader to join our team as the Director, Accounting. Reporting to the CFO, this role is instrumental in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving process improvements across multiple entities. You'll lead a high-performing accounting team, manage budgeting and audits, and play a key role in financial strategy; and perform related work as required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily finance and accounting operations, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial statements.
  • Assist the CFO with cash management, audits and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
  • Mentor and lead the accounting team, fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on financial strategy and risk management
  • Drive system implementations and process improvements for operational excellence.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Experience: Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least four (4) years in a leadership role. Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial forecasting, audits and internal controls.
  • Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Leadership: A strategic thinker with excellent communication and team management skills.
  • This position is contingent on the ability to pass a background and credit check upon accepting an offer.
  • Employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds, hand truck available to assist.
  • Must be able to sit at computer for long periods of time and have the dexterity to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines, instructions, and policies.
  • Work occasional extended hours, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays for activities that are required to be done after-hours.
  • Limited vacation during peak periods
