As a Project Developer - Collaborate with a team of account executives, energy engineers, project managers and external consultants and contractors to lead the development of cost-effective performance-based projects for targeted clients.

As a Project Developer, you will:
  • Perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities.
  • Coordinate and lead facility site visits.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors (consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, etc.) as it pertains to FIM development.
  • Assist sales in the identification and qualification of potential performance contracting projects.
  • Develop or supervise preliminary and final performance contracting request for qualifications (RFQ) and proposals (RFP).
  • Create or supervise the development of performance assurance plans.
  • Oversee the development of performance contracting contracts.
  • Analyze blueprints and other construction documents.
  • Perform and coordinate site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, energy resiliency, building envelop, process and controls systems to determine facility operational characteristics.
  • Apply energy simulation programs to develop energy, water conservation, cooling, and heating load-building models using modeling software.
  • Develop design concepts concerning recommended FIMs, including descriptions, savings potential, cost estimates and data to verify FIM relevance.
  • Prepare financial models related to repayment, including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return.
  • Mentor less experienced Energy Engineers on staff.
  • Develop calculation methodologies to be used by the Engineering staff.
  • Monitor the implementation project performance particularly for those with guaranteed savings.
  • Manage relationships with energy sub-contracting partners, product vendors, and current and potential future customers.


You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in energy services or engineering field.
  • Demonstrated Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated High level of knowledge of HVAC systems, building control systems, lighting, building envelope, domestic water systems, renewable design, industrial gas system distribution and control.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of common HVAC and electrical building codes.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Analytics and Distributed Energy system; Solar, Combined Heat & Power
  • Demonstrated Proficiency with building modeling programs.
  • Demonstrated Experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations and IMVP performance assurance methodologies.
  • Possess a valid drivers license and legally authorized for employment in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • HVAC consulting engineering experience preferred
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong design build construction project development responsibilities
  • Demonstrated complex ESCO project development experience
  • Knowledge of energy supply-side savings, and ability to evaluate savings potential

  • The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $175,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
