The Position

External Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) & Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) is a vital, global activity that spans across many Organon functions. The lack of a centralized group or process to manage the HCP engagements has each function and region developing their own processes and/or using disparate vendors. There are immediate opportunities for harmonization, optimization & advancement of this capability for HCP Strategy & Identification, Planning & Execution as well as within HCP Operations (FMV, Contracting, Payments and Technology Enablement). The HCP Enablement Resources (HER) Project can enable Organon to benefit from harmonized strategy & execution more efficient operations, addressing compliance and reputational risks and create a scalable platform for future growth.

The Director Healthcare Professional Enablement Resources (HER Program Lead), serves as a key interface with global and local Organon stakeholders, external scientific leaders, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and scientific/medical societies. This role oversees the process of identification and selection of HCPs for various fee-for-service responsibilities, develops and implements the scientific leader management strategy as well as oversees operational and technology solutions for Organon's HCP Healthcare Enablement Resources (HER) Program. Additionally, the Director partners with functional leaders to develop strategies, plan, and execute the company's drug development and in-line portfolio by managing relationships with key medical and scientific external experts. Projects may be internal or part of alliance agreements with external research and development partners.

The Director - HER Program Lead oversees the development and maintenance of policies and SOPs, ensuring quality control, audit readiness, and managing the global Cross Border Engagement process. The Director is expected to provide leadership, drive HCP policy and process within Organon, manage cross-functional and alliance governance committees, and contribute to business process improvement and talent development. This role manages a team of colleagues / contractors that assess expert credentials, identifying appropriate HCPs/SLs for engagements, managing vendor performance, and leading the planning and execution of expert engagements. Additionally, the Director oversees scientific leader engagements at key congresses, collaborates with functional leaders for process improvements, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations. The Director is expected to provide operational leadership, drive HCP policy and process within Organon, manage cross-functional and alliance governance committees, and contribute to business process improvement and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Enhance team dynamics: Leverage relationships and networks to improve team dynamics and proactively remove obstacles to drive business results.
  • Provide organizational and process expertise: Enable teams to navigate discovery, development, corporate governance, and business needs for HCP Engagement.
  • Oversee HCP engagement vendors: Ensure quality, compliance, and cost management of vendors.
  • Manage resources and budgets: Partner with Finance to plan and manage resources and budgets.
  • Communicate project status: Update senior management, governance committees, and alliance committees on project status/issues through documents and presentations.
  • Mentor and coach: Provide mentoring, coaching, and oversight to outsourced Associate Directors, sharing lessons learned and best practices.
  • Participate in training and development: Engage in ongoing training and personal development activities to increase leadership competency and knowledge of HCP involvement in drug development.
  • Coordinate project team meetings: Chair timely, efficient, and action-oriented meetings, coordinating complex team operations and communications.
  • Direct project communications: Ensure all stakeholders, including HCPs, are informed and knowledgeable of project activities and their status.
  • Anticipate and resolve project issues: Provide leadership to identify and resolve complex project issues, proposing and implementing corrective actions.


Required Education, Experience and Skills
  • Educational Requirements: A bachelor's degree in science, business, healthcare, or a related field is required, with a strong preference for a concentration in a scientific or applied discipline.

  • 10+ years of biopharmaceutical experience.
  • Five plus years in Research and Development (R&D) and/or Commercial Operations roles.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in commercial and/or medical affairs.
  • Experience collaborating with medical/scientific leaders.
  • Experience working with medical associations and societies.


Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
  • An advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA, PhD, PharmD) is preferred.
  • Project Management: Project management certification (PMP) and/or formal coursework/training in project management is strongly preferred.

The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below. $138,200.00 - $234,900.00
