Summer Journey Overview:

We anticipate programming throughout all NYC boroughs, though most positions concentrated in the Bronx, Staten Island, and Manhattan. We are committed to thoughtfully matching staff with their grade and location preference to the best of our ability

The Summer Journey Program is not expected to begin before June 30th and will likely run for 6 full weeks with a Monday through Thursday schedule. A required in person training will occur the week of January 23rd.

Overview

Role Overview:

The On-Site Specialist will provide leadership for each participating Host Site in the Summer Journey program. The Specialist will support both the instructional quality and operational excellence of the site they oversee and will work with the support of their Program Supervisor.

Responsibilities

How you'll be there for students:

Supporting Academic Excellence
  • Maintain a deep understanding of effective instruction using Summer Journey curriculum and materials.
  • Plan and host regular cohort meetings and provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Attend all required training sessions prior to program start and throughout program (for compensation at hourly rate).
  • Complete classroom observations for each assigned teacher throughout the Summer Journey program and conference with each teacher to provide feedback on classroom instruction. Report all observational data through online databases.


Supporting Operational Excellence
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with teachers, parents, stakeholders, students, and ONPCS personal throughout Summer Journey programming.
  • Maintain on-campus materials and communicate additional needs to warehouse.
  • Support payroll processing for assigned cohort.

Qualifications

What we'll need from you:

The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least two years related supervisory experience in education.
  • Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
  • Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.
  • Ability to fulfill and abide by all necessary requirements for employment.
  • Ability to legally work in the United States.
  • Availability to work for the full program, including in-person teacher training the week of June 23rd and additional Specialist related training and preparation beginning week of June 16th.

Pay Rate

Starting from USD $55.00/Hr.
