Position Mission:

The Regulatory Compliance Manager is principally responsible for managing risks for non-compliance to product hazard related regulations as well as customer / supplier contract requirements. This will require the role to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders (operations, quality, product engineering category, catalog, supply chain, contract accounts, etc.) as well as with government agencies and professional organizations and manage outreach information for all these groups in a consolidated sharepoint. This role also includes performing related actions with Suppliers for NAPA's product assortment to ensure compliance to the regulations and legislations that apply. Responsible for ensuring that suppliers continue to develop and implement best practices related to regulatory compliance and supplier diversity.

Position Performance Measures:
  • Record and maintain a forward-looking compliance calendar
  • Develop business data reports for use in regulatory projects.
  • Deliver required outreach activities to educate and inform key stakeholders of regulatory and contract compliance requirements and impact to them.
  • Track and monitor Compliance metrics such as Compliance Rate %.
  • Manage record keeping that can be leveraged instantly for any customer inquiries as well as any legal concerns coming from regulatory bodies or legal department.


Responsibilities:
  • Develops procedures and reporting to generate supplier lists, surveys as required by compliance calendar or the business. For the reporting, critical thinking needs to be engaged to design the reporting to meet multiple project needs.
  • Conducting gap analysis in partnership with category and suppliers to ensure products are in compliance and executing sales bans to fix compliance gaps and sales release to fix any erroneous sales bans or in response to restriction status change as specified by suppliers. There is an expectation to be proficient in the existing regulation apps and manage troubleshooting where needed as well as facilitate any associated bulletins / disposition activities that need to be executed by operations and category.
  • Preparing risk management/compliance reports / records needed for sharing with customers / sales teams or government agencies when requested.
  • Tracking diversity spend in accordance with Customer/Supplier Contract Requirements and managing corrective actions for any non-compliance events. This includes interfacing with any regulatory body or customer where required.
  • Responsible for KPI reporting on compliance and to support ensuring liability risks are minimal.
  • Manage outreach efforts to educate and inform to key stakeholders as required.

Experience, Education, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5-7+ years professional experience in regulatory compliance, supplier diversity related role, engineering, or closely related fields
  • 5+ years automotive experience preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to be a reporting and application SME by independently navigating business data analytics reporting including PowerBI, regulation apps and any other supplier diverse spend apps
  • Ability to use critical thinking to develop efficient action plans and to anticipate project risks that will be needed to be mitigated.
  • Ability to distill complex data into concise executive reports.
  • Experience using various computer applications including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work across all internal departments to drive projects to on-time completion.
  • Highly motivated individual that has a strong drive for results; communicates effectively both in written and verbal communication formats.
