Enterprise Business Continuity Planning (EBCP) is a resource to help prepare HCA Healthcare to successfully protect patients, employees, communities, and assets in the face of emergencies by providing management with tools and guidance necessary for risk assessment, contingency planning, and disaster recovery. Our mission will be accomplished by coordinating efforts and improving communication enterprise wide, providing leadership support for the Enterprise Emergency Operations and Business Continuity Planning Council, using technology to standardize and improve efficiency and management reporting.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees the development, implementation, testing, education, and maintenance of the enterprise business continuity program by performing the following:
- Serving as the subject matter expert for business continuity planning by demonstrating strong knowledge of the following:
- Business impact analysis (BIA)
- Business continuity strategy development and planning
- Risk evaluation and controls
- Hazard vulnerability assessment (HVA)
- Emergency response and operations
- Healthcare industry, particularly the risks as related to business continuity planning
- Staying informed on Company-wide initiatives (new service lines, acquisitions, reliance on third party vendor applications, etc.) and effectively evaluating the impact of those initiatives on the Company's business continuity program.
- Partner with business units in support of operational resilience strategies to ensure the Company's critical business functions can continue in the event of a disruption.
- Working with department contacts to promote EBCP and ensure a high level of awareness regarding business continuity planning across the Company as well as appropriate preparedness of personnel during an event or a disaster.
- Staying abreast of general business and economic developments and effectively evaluating the impact of those developments on the Company's business continuity program.
- Staying informed on regulatory changes, monitoring the business continuity program as it relates to audit and regulatory compliance and working with the business owners to developing a gap analysis and a plan to address any gaps.
- Facilitating the development of standards and helping to ensure business continuity plans are documented and meet those standards.
- Interacting with business unit managers regarding business continuity plans and following up with plan owners to help ensure their needs are being met.
- Serve as the business owner for AssuranceCM, the Company's enterprise wide externally web-hosted business continuity planning system by performing the following:
- Understanding system capabilities and ensuring the system is used as efficiently as possible
- Overseeing system reporting and understanding the capabilities and limitations
- Maintaining a strong relationship with vendor leadership team and assist HCA product team with negotiating all contracts for service, consulting, and support.
- Conduct regular crisis management exercises to test the effectiveness of the Company's business continuity plans and identify areas for improvement.
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of all technologies and vendors used to support EBCP and overseeing the integration between technologies to ensure efficiency (e.g. AssuranceCM, StormGeo, HCA Alert, HCA CodeReady, etc.).
- Producing compelling presentations and training: develop and deliver clear, cohesive, and skillful communication regarding business continuity and crisis management.
- Overseeing the development of educational materials related to AssuranceCM and business continuity planning and providing these materials to lines of business to support planning efforts.
- Serving as the liaison between HCA Healthcare lines of business (e.g. HealthTrust, Parallon, HCA Lab services, Surgery Ventures, Physician Services, Home Health and Hospice, etc.) and the EPEO team to ensure emergency management and business continuity programs are operating effectively.
- Assisting and supporting lines of business (e.g. HealthTrust, Parallon, HCA Lab services, etc.) regarding the development and execution of emergency preparedness and business continuity planning exercises.
- Serving as the Co-chair of the Emergency Operations and Business Continuity Council, developing Council meeting agendas and driving strategy for the council in conjunction with the Enterprise Preparedness and Emergency Operations (EPEO) team.
- Serving as Co-Lead (Business Continuity representative) of the Clinical Downtime and Recovery Council.
- Continually developing technical knowledge in emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
- Overseeing the development of all staff members by performing the following:
- Working with department staff to develop department goals and objectives.
- Working with department staff to develop personal goals for continual professional development.
- Monitoring the department's progress toward goals and objectives and adjusting where necessary.
- Understanding and explaining to staff members the objectives of department projects and each member's role in those projects.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to staff members including addressing questions, contributing constructive on-the-job feedback, and training, conducting formal performance evaluations at least annually, serving as a positive role model and assisting in designing and implementing individual career development plans.
- Serving as the EBCP team lead when the Enterprise Emergency Operations Center (EEOC) is activated and help with staffing the EEOC 24 hours/day for the duration of a significant clinical or business disruption and/or disaster to support the Divisions and facilities impacted.
- Serving as the backup lead for EEOC operations should the EPEO team be unavailable for any reason.
- Facilitate and support the formal after-action review process following any major event that creates a significant clinical or business disruption.
- Working closely with EPEO Directors to ensure all department playbooks are up-to-date and available to our Division and facility teams.
- Overseeing updates to web sites (e.g. Share Point and Company intranet sites) that house EBCP training and educational content.
- Assisting the VP and AVP of Emergency Operations with other projects as requested

Requirements:
- More than 7 years' experience (healthcare preferred)
- BCP certification (e.g. CBCP or MBCP) or equivalent preferred
- College graduate, master's degree in business or healthcare administration preferred
- Understanding of business continuity planning, emergency management, and disaster recovery assessments
- Prior experience in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Business Recovery, and/or Disaster Recovery
- FEMA Certifications (ICS 100,200,700,800), preferred
- Ability to be on-call during non-office hours to respond and support the Enterprise Emergency Operations Center (EEOC) during any event that has a clinical or business impact
- Ability to travel up to 25%
