The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Get to Know the Opportunity:
As a key member of Voya Investment Management's COO organization, you be responsible for the pricing and fair value of private assets. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring appropriate valuation of private assets for Voya Investment Management.
The Contributions You'll Make:
- Internal Valuations: Ensure daily and/or monthly valuation on private debt instruments is performed, specifically private credit and commercial mortgage loans, in accordance with internal policies and methodology. Conduct research on key valuation inputs and analyze deltas to determine reasonability. Perform testing of fair value methodologies.
- External Valuation Oversight: Communicate and work with external pricing vendors to review valuation results and ensure reasonability of fair value.
- Vendor Due-Diligence: Perform due diligence to onboard and continuously vet external vendors to support private debt valuation.
- Client Support: Provide quality support to clients and their representatives relating to their deliverables and the valuation practices. Represent the team on valuation and pricing topics in client discussions.
- Audit Support and Validation: Coordinate and respond to internal and external auditors, as well as external clients to explain valuation methodology, period over period variation and validation of valuations.
- Key Controls: Responsible for producing and reviewing valuation model results and performing key controls.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze and provide recommendations to improve on the processes and procedures for ensuring accurate, daily mark-to-market of complex private credit and commercial mortgage loans.
- Review current processes and pro-actively make changes or propose initiatives to improve efficiencies.
- Committee Participation: Participate in Valuation Committee meetings. Assist with minutes and deliverables, as needed. Represent the Valuation team is speaking to private debt valuation.
- Vendor Pricing Data: Communicate and work with external pricing vendors to review valuation results and ensure reasonability of fair value.
- Monitoring Market Trends: Continuously work to develop knowledge of industry-wide valuation methodologies and techniques, market developments, regulatory changes, and economic indicators that could impact asset valuation.
- Market Data Oversight: Analyze market data such as prices, yields, and comparable securities to determine appropriate inputs into respective valuation models.
- Data Requests: Promptly respond to investment data requests from key customers, including traders, portfolio managers, sales, and client service personnel to support questions related to the asset.
- Key Project Support: Partake in key initiatives across the firm to cover aspects related to valuation and new investment mandates.
Minimum Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Progress toward CFA Charter, MBA, or Master's in quantitative discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in pricing & valuation within investment management; Minimum of 1-3 years experience specifically in private debt valuation within investment management.
- Strong understanding of discounted cash flow modeling and valuation of fixed income securities.
- Understanding of diverse asset types such as private credit, commercial mortgage loans, and bank loans.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior investment professionals.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL and VBA a strong plus.
- Familiarity with investment technology platforms and systems. Exposure to BlackRock Solutions Aladdin and Bloomberg is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines.
- Ability to keep pace with a rapidly changing business environment.
- High level of ethics, values, and integrity.
