SUMMARY: Engineering is a broad field that is divided into various disciplines and sub-disciplines. The disciplines of engineering can be divided into five main categories chemical civil electrical mechanical and industrial engineering. There are also branches or sub-disciplines of these main disciplines that offer specialized knowledge and skills in a particular expertise; for example refrigeration specialization. As part of the Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) Engineering Infrastructure Discipline team this individual will utilize their experience and knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology focusing on projects which support the scope and budgeting generation design construction and project management of large scale capital infrastructure projects across the Tyson Foods manufacturing network. This position focuses on applying principles techniques procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services focusing on infrastructure systems, preferably building envelopes and roofing systems. This position will report directly to the Director Engineering - CoE, with Infrastructure Discipline Engineering responsibilities and will focus primarily on building envelopes and roofing functions.
Essential Core Duties and Responsibilities: Subject matter expert for Tyson Foods Enterprise Engineering group for infrastructure, building envelopes, and roofing systems. Ensure projects initiatives and processes are in conformance with the organization s established policies and objectives while meeting all code and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain infrastructure specifications standards and other technical information in collaboration with other corporate functional areas. Coordinate and manage the day to day operational aspects of multiple equipment and process focused projects. Interface daily with stakeholders and other enterprise network team members. Monitor report and distribute reporting metrics to cross-functional teams regarding the status and progress of team projects. Review project CIRs for validity scope design QA and network impact. Review project metrics for reasonableness improve project control through process improvement and user training. Ensure integrity of system and reporting of data from multiple sources and programs. Guide and assist reliability team to measure and model data to predict equipment and system time to failure time between failures and time between repairs and to use historical data to forecast resource utilization based on capital spending allocations. Guide and assist operations and engineering teams to adhere to Tyson Foods Enterprise Engineering design specifications. Create ad-hoc reports analysis and presentations as requested needed. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: BS in Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7 years of applicable engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years in the food industry.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge and working use of computer programs including spreadsheets databases.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent communication skills to multiple internal department leaders, plant and warehouse leadership.
Travel: 15%
