Job Description
Job Title: Surgical Technician
Job Specialty: Ortho/Neuro/Spine/Robotics
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day/Evening, 40 hours per week with a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts. Includes weekly on-call with a 30-minute response time, and may include occasional holidays and weekends.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an Operating Room setting
License: Must have a valid license to submit
Certifications: BLS (AHA required)
Must-Have:
- Strong experience in Ortho (total knee/hips), Neuro, trauma, and robotics
Job Description:
- The role includes working with 33 total operating room suites, with a focus on both outpatient and inpatient cases.
- The average workload is between 80-120 cases per day.
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center with 24/7 Poly Trauma response is required.
- The position entails working with various service lines including:
- Orthopedics: Major ortho, joints, spines, sports medicine, and trauma
- Neurology: Craniotomies and spine surgeries
- Robotics: Including surgical oncology, urology, and gynecology (not required but beneficial)
- Bariatrics
- ENT: Head and neck, free flaps, reconstruction, and basic cases
- Ophthalmology: Retina, cataracts, and oculoplastics
- Scrubs provided for operating room duties.
- Charting system used is EPIC.
- Orientation sessions are held every two weeks.
Note: The Adult Heart Team and the Pediatric Heart Team are located separately and are not part of this role, as well as the Kidney Transplants team.
