Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer
Job Specialty: Radiology
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Tuesday through Thursday 9:00-19:30 and Friday 07:00-17:30
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum 1-year ultrasound experience preferred
License: State license in Ultrasound required
Certifications: A.R.D.M.S certification, OB/GYN certification, BLS/ACLS certification required via American Heart Association
Must-Have:
- Registration in abdomen and OB/GYN preferred
Job Description:
- Perform ultrasound procedures as requested by physicians with the utmost quality.
- Identify advanced anatomy and assist doctors with invasive procedures.
- Provide care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
- Work closely with Radiologists as well as other Doctors and Surgeons, anticipating their needs for each procedure.
- Understand that the Operating Room takes precedence when a patient is sedated and on the OR table.
- Ability to take call and respond to work to help critical patients during off hours.
- Thorough knowledge of sonographic procedures, equipment, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of advanced procedures such as biopsy and thoracentesis.
- Responsible to the Radiology Manager and lead Ultrasound Technologist.
- Exposure to various body fluids, with bloodborne pathogen risks.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients and equipment over 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program required.
