Job Purpose/Summary:
Chaplain Supervisors are responsible for maximizing the leverage of chaplain services in the field by supporting, guiding, and evaluating all assigned chaplains within the scope and context of shared value chaplaincy care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides spiritual and emotional guidance to Team Members and their immediate families while respecting people's unique beliefs, values, and experiences. Ensures supervisory guidance, support, and evaluation of all assigned chaplains.
Direct TM Care
Maintain a judgment-free presence, inclusive of all faiths, sexual orientations, and ethnicities
Counsel distressed and bereaved individuals and families while providing helpful strategies for understanding and healing
Respond to critical incident situations where Team Members or their families have been traumatized
Maintain confidentiality in all chaplain conversations except for those that reveal risk of injury to self, others, or the business
Collaborate with HR leadership and the chaplain services' team to offer educational and social service opportunities that help stabilize Team Members' personal lives
Make hospital and home visits to Team Members and immediate family members
Provide appropriate chaplain presence at memorials and/or funerals of Team Members
Cultivate and maintain a network of referral resources through community partnerships and service providers that can assist in serving the various needs of Team Members
Write articles and/or provide presentations consistent with personal education, experience, and training, as requested by HR or chaplain services leadership
Serve as an advisor to management on matters of religion, morals/ethics, and Team Member morale and pulse
Maintain moral and ethical character and conduct that is above reproach and protects the reputational integrity of the company and chaplaincy program
Keep accurate records of contacts and write required reports assisting leadership in identifying and assessing thematic risks
Supervisory Care
Communicate with clarity the scope, annual objectives, and associated activities of the chaplaincy role to other chaplains as assigned
Orient new chaplains as assigned to the policies, procedures, processes, resources, and expectations of their role
Coach and support, as necessary, all assigned chaplains in their essential duties and responsibilities
Ensure timely, accurate, clear, and effective reporting is captured monthly by all assigned chaplains
Collaborate with plant leadership of assigned chaplains to effectively recruit, leverage, and evaluate field chaplains
Assess performance bi-annually of all assigned chaplains in collaboration with business unit training managers
Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
Minimum requirement Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. Four units of clinical pastoral education (or the willingness to complete four units within two years of employment). Clergy endorsement. Chaplain board certification preferred.
Official documentation of degree completion from a CHEA accredited (or international equivalent) institution in a content area relevant to chaplaincy - acceptable concentrations would include applicable theological and human science degrees.
Experience: Three to five years of chaplain experience in a culturally diverse and faith inclusive context, as well as 1-2 years of supervisory experience are preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer and video conferencing skills to include MS Office programs.
Communication Skills: Chaplains must possess English language proficiency - speaking, reading, and writing. Multilingual skills are preferred.
Special Skills: Basic case management and mental health assessment skills preferred.
Supervisory: Field chaplains as assigned
Travel: 5-10%

$68,000.00 - $144,000.00

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson's total compensation package.
