Quality Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer who will be responsible for developing methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection to ensure quality during our manufacturing operations. This hands-on role includes developing statistical control procedures, test procedures, and inspection methods to ensure our product is built to quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure our product is produced without flaws, and to the design intent
  • Perform Material Review Board (MRB) Management including oversight, handling of non-conforming materials and disposition corrective actions
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection
  • Act as the key contact with outside auditors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Perform material and data analysis to identify areas for improvement in the production process
  • Determine and define test capabilities and inspection methods in conjunction with Manufacturing/ Process Engineering
  • Develop and update necessary work instructions, SOPs, equipment specifications, risk documents, and DHR documents as well as supporting the planning and execution of equipment and process validations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality methodologies and tools (8D, 5Y, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, statistical evaluation, SPC/SQC, capability studies)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and document control systems
  • Strong knowledge of process control and data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 13485, ISO/AS 9100, IATF 16949 or equivalent systems
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory compliance such as UN 38.3, UL, CE, or equivalent safety certifications
  • Experience with supplier management and conducting audits
  • Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus or Black Belt certification is a preferred
