Oracle America is looking for a Lead Contracts Analyst/Negotiator (senior level team member) in Technology Procurement to lead complex contract negotiations, with a focus on legal terms, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting all of Oracle's technology requirements (Cloud Computing, SaaS, Software, Hardware, and Technology Professional Services) in North America. This position requires an individual who is comfortable in the corporate technology procurement field and thrives when working on fast-paced, impactful contracts that have a major impact in delivering technology to our world.

The successful candidate must be geographically located in the Rocklin, CA, or Austin, TX area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex contract negotiations that support a wide variety of internal business units (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, NetSuite, Global Physical Security, Oracle Health, and more), for the procurement of goods and services in the categories of Cloud Computing, SaaS, software, hardware and technology professional services with a focus on the legal terms of the contracts.
  • Negotiate country-specific agreements under a global master contracting structure to implement local laws and regulations where necessary.
  • Perform contract reviews and analyses to determine contract obligations, requirements, and remedies.
  • Conduct gap analysis of existing contracts versus potentially new contracts with a supplier and assess the risks and benefits to either strategy.
  • Review of product and service orders under existing master contracts to ensure there are no deviations to governing terms, adjusting the contracting documents as necessary for alignment.
  • Project manage the contract lifecycle from the beginning of a negotiation through to contract execution, including development of the negotiation strategy, understanding of the business use case and business requirements, negotiating the contract and memorializing the negotiated agreement.
  • Successful relationship building with both key internal stakeholders and a variety of suppliers across multiple global regions.
  • Ability to write executive level summaries, directed to both legal and business executives, seeking approval of key non-standard terms prior to contract completion and execution.
  • Work cooperatively with internal stakeholders to meet business operation timelines while mitigating and allocating both legal and operational risk appropriately.

Requisite Skills, Training and Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Economics, Business, or related field of study.
  • Juris Doctor degree is strongly preferred, as this role is solely focused on legal terms.
  • 8 years of relevant experience; 4-7 years of corporate indirect procurement experience, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Knowledge of the technology industry, including the Cloud Computing, SaaS, Software, Electronic Health Records, and Technology Professional Services industries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully build relationships and influence individuals both up and down the organizational hierarchy.
  • Ability to deal with high-stakes, time-sensitive situations with speed, professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated to work independently to deliver positive business results.
  • Confidently and appropriately exercise sound judgment, while integrating knowledge gained from previous situations that may be similar, yet different. Understanding how to apply that judgement in those similar, yet different situations.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple contract negotiations simultaneously to meet business deadlines and goals with an understanding of the impact if an engagement were to be deprioritized.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
